Yosemite Field Station

Day Use

The Yosemite Field Station has multiple facilities suitable for day use with nominal daily and monthly rates (ask for details).  All facilities have wifi free of charge. (Cell coverage is low-speed Verizon service only.)

Overnight accommodations

The Yosemite Field Station includes six cabins scattered throughout the community of Wawona, and can accommodate a total of 55 people. All cabins are shared with other researchers, educators, and students on an as-needed basis.  All cabins have free wifi, some have land lines (requires calling cards), and Wawona has limited to no cell service. Beds are extra-long twin mattresses unless otherwise noted.

Reservations are per-person, not by cabin. Cabins might be shared with other user groups.  Rates are variable depending on guest affiliation and type of use. Reservations made after July 1, 2017 will follow a new rate structure. The occupancy limits listed below reflect the current COVID-19 guidance as of July 2020.

Sequoia Field Station

The Sequoia Field Station includes one cabin and one research/classroom facility at the Sequoia Field station, located in the historic Wolverton Ski Area, about a mile from Giant Forest. The one-room cabin has 2 twin beds and a futon, and can accommodate 2-3 people for overnight stays. The research/classroom building has space for 25 people. Wolverton is generally accessible year-round. The cabin has wifi access, but the Wolverton facilities do not have cell phone service. Below are pictures of each building. Additional facilities, such as group campsites, wet lab space, or alternative lodgings may be available on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the station director for assistance in making special arrangements in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
